In case you forgot, I still chase plastic. This was taken back in March but I rarely have pictures of me scoring so I just HAVE TO share this with you!

This is Kham. He is a resident of Birchcroft and Urban Eagles kid. Here he is showing off a website he made at a Kids Coding Class I teach during the week!

Apparently this is how you hold your catch! I went to Florida for the Memorial Day weekend and found some time to grab a fishing pole and head to the water.

URBAN EAGLES

The Urban Eagles U12 Birchcroft Boys finished their season in May as CHAMPIONS of the Spring Soar League! It was a great season as the boys not only grew as soccer players on the field but major strides were taken to set the foundation for these boys to grow up into men of God. TECH TALENT SOUTH

Near the end of April, I started a new venture that really has changed a lot of things in my life. I went back to school! Not a real school per se but instead it’s more like a single class to learn how to code and be a computer developer. For the past 6 weeks and finishing up in 2 weeks, I have attended Tech Talent South - a code immersion program to learn the Ruby on Rails computer language. One of the best things I’m finding out is that I’m actually enjoying myself and surprisingly am quite good at coding! As a supplement to my classroom learning experience, I also am one of multiple students that are teachers at a weekly Kid Coding Class. It’s been an amazing experience!

New Dog, New…Tricks?

Hello World!

It’s been awhile since I’ve actual written a new blog with words instead of posting pictures from my Instagram!

I wanted to write a quick post regarding my newsletters moving forward.

Before my newsletters were sent in digital and paper form using email, social media, and snail mail every three months (ideally matching with a season of the year). However, in matching with my need to try new things, I’ve decided to try something new and, quite honestly, somewhat risky.

I’m going to eliminate paper newsletters.

While I know and understand the benefits of continually sending out quarterly paper newsletters, I saw an opportunity to take a risk and try something new in the way I update my supporters and see this route as a way to gain new subscribers to my newsletters.

Most people read my updates digitally rather than on paper and the great thing about email newsletters is that most people have a smartphone so my newsletter will remain with them in their inbox instead of buried under papers on a coffee or kitchen table.

What’s the goal?

My intention and thought process is by eliminating the creation of paper newsletters in addition to email newsletters there will be more time to create email newsletters monthly rather than quarterly. So instead of stuffing three months of stories, pictures, and etc. into a paper newsletter and email newsletter and the time it takes to create and send all of them out. My goal is to have cleaner, consistent, regular updates every month starting in June.

Like I stated earlier, this is a sizable risk and a bit of jumping off a cliff in terms of sending out updates however I think the smaller sent monthly will generate more views to my profiles and pages and through the power of digital sharing, add more financial and spiritual supporters to the mission.

What can you do?

Sign up for my newsletter! This will be the only way to exclusively get my monthly newsletters first! Already signed up? Perfect but your job’s not done just yet! I need you to SHARE this post with all your friends so they can sign up too! Simply copy the link and post it to your twitter, facebook, instagram, etc. etc…

Your help and participation does go a LONG WAY in helping continue to be an Urban Missionary in the Birchcroft neighborhood and the Urban Eagles ministry!

THANKS!

Kicked off the first game of the U12 season! We won 3-2 against Columbia!!

After agreeing to the paparazzi’s pleas, the U12 Birchcroft boys posed after our first game as a team…and our first WIN TOO!

URBAN EAGLES

The spring has brought a new dimension to our U12 Birchroft Boys soccer team! After a season hiatus in the fall, the Urban Eagles U12 return to league play in the SOAR Sports Spring Soccer League! The season so far has definitely had it’s ups and downs as one could expect with a group of fifteen 7-13 year-olds. There have definitely been moments of tough love (and tough to love) as a coach but there have also been many more moments of joy, growth, and victory (on and off the field)! You can follow along and catch up with the U12 Birchcroft Boys season on my website: Andrew-Au.com

It's here! It's here! The new MAISOCCER.COM is officially live. Come see w

MAISOCCER.COM

It finally released! Over the winter months, I was tasked with a specific project for Missionary Athletes International: UPDATE THE WEBSITE! I don’t mean to be harsh but the old MAI website was in major need of a facelift. Given a three month deadline, I am excited to say that the new MAIsoccer.com website is live and ready to be seen by you and the world! CLICK HERE TO LEARN CHECK OUT MAISOCCER.COM
